Pinnacle Lead’s Internship Series - Cultured Sam

Welcome to the second of our Pinnacle Lead Internship Series, where we will get to know more about each of our future leaders as well as a glimpse into their internship…the second of intern of our internship program, SangHo…Cultured Sam

Who are you SangHo/Sam?

“I am a uni student from South Korea whom has been fortunately to experience global cultures as this is the fourth city that I’ve lived within having lived in the South Korea, Middle East, Malaysia and now Hong Kong. I am a fitness enthusiast and whilst football is my sport of choice, I do enjoy playing other sports such as tennis, ping pong and swimming. Loving to blend in with foreign culture that I’ve not yet experienced, I thrive off new challenges and trying out new things that takes me out of my comfort zone.”

Where and What do you currently study?

“I’m currently majoring a BSc in Quantitative Finance at HKUST”

Why did you choose Pinnacle Lead for your internship and what are you trying to get out of it?

“Consulting requires a diverse set of skills ranging from analytical, agile mindset, and excellent presentation skills, all to which having come across Pinnacle Lead, I firmly believe that I can hone in, develop and carve out these skills. All the whilst having the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge into the future of the financial markets…technology disruption. Which ideally will help me hone in on my future career path that best utilize my academics in Q-Finance in combination with my eagerness for human interaction. Furthermore, the fact that the Pinnacle team is comprised of highly experience and responsible professionals reinforced my interest to join their journey as I feel that even though it’s an internship, my contribution can be of impact to them also.”

How is your experience so far?

“It’s week 3 and time has flown by. Whilst we were offered intensive training, we were also given the opportunity to put the classroom theory into practice. In the short space of time that I’ve been here, I’ve already managed to better understand my “needs” and confidently say that I’ve enhanced both my communication and presentation skills. Given the flexibility and supportive environment at Pinnacle Lead, it truly allows me to put my ideas into practice, which are always open for post trial review where it is discussed to see how to further improve. As such, it provides an eye-opening exposure to the function of peaking industries in the market and allows me to gain deeper insights as a talent advisor, and in turn, help me with valuable insight into my own future career path.”

Who do you want to talk to if you can speak to anyone in the world and why?

“I’d love to talk to Mr. Warren Buffet to discuss diverse investment strategies and gain a deeper insight regarding the key skillsets to forming excellent business acumen as well as to see how a leader in his position define “innovation”. ”
